Question

Asking serial everytime + Error 16

I have adobe ID and linked adobe Photoshop there. Later I've bought adobe Acrobat 2017 and 2020 separately from retail.

After installing Acrobat 2017 or 2020 it asks me to enter Adobe ID.

Ok.

Then it asks my serial number. Ok

It works. But after rebooting my machine it starts from the begining: asks ID, asks Serial. WTF?

And few days later I got error 16 and must reinstall whole product (same thing with Acro 2020 and 2017)

Can anyoune help with troubleshooting?

Hi Алекандр

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described you are getting the error 16 asking to uninstall and reinstall the application.

Error 16 means that permissions to application folders are set incorrectly.

If you Mac OS please try the steps below:

1. Set permission to SL Folder:

  • Use the Finder to navigate to Library/Application Support/Adobe/SLStore.
  • Control-click the folder and choose Get Info.
  • Expand the Sharing & Permissions section.
  • Click the lock icon in the lower-right corner. Enter your administrator user name and password when prompted, and then click OK.
  • Set permissions:
    System: Read/write
    Admin: Read/write
    Everyone: Read/write
  • Click the gear icon, and select Apply to enclosed items.
  • Close the Get Info dialog box.
