Auto Flatten; Comments/Sticky Notes getting flattened every save

Hi everyone,

Can't seem to figure this out. I will leave comments or sticky notes in a certain file, but when I save and reopen or send to team members, the file is flattened leaving the sticky note icon with no comments. I have tried many things. This only happens for a few of my files. Any way to fix this?

more information is needed to help with this.

1) What OS are you using?

2) What Acrobat version are you using (see menu Help - About)?

3) Did you create the PDFs yourself or did you get these "misbehavin" PDFs from someone else?

If you create them, what software(s) are involved?

4) Is it possible to get one of the problematic PDFs uploaded here to have a look at it?

Thanks for reaching out.

Do those recipients open the file in Acrobat or Adobe Reader? Is there a script running in the folder where you save the files?

Ideally, this shouldn't happen. Where do you store files? Are they locally on the device network drive or Cloud drive?

Also, if possible please share a file with comments and screenshots before and after on recipients device.
