auto scroll reversed direction after serval Ctrl-Shift-H

Issue:

 

In New Acrobat Reader Mode, Auto Scroll direction reverses unexpectedly in Reading Mode.

 

Steps to reproduce:

 

1. Open any PDF.

2. Enter Reading Mode.

3. Press Ctrl+Shift+H to start Auto Scroll.

4. Stop Auto Scroll.

5. Press Ctrl+Shift+H again.

6. Stop Auto Scroll again.

7. Press Ctrl+Shift+H a third time.

 

Actual Result:

Auto Scroll direction becomes reversed.

 

Expected Result:

Auto Scroll direction should remain unchanged.

 

Additional Notes:

- Reproducible every time.

- Preference folders were reset and recreated.

- Issue remains after updating to 2026.002.21931.

- Does not occur in Old Acrobat Mode.

- Does not occur in Full Screen mode (Ctrl+L).

    1. Yes , when press Ctril-Shift-H , the first time, doc starts scrolling up, press Ctril-Shift-H, it stops scrolling, pressing Ctril-Shift-H again, it will scroll downward, press Ctril-Shift-H again,  it stops scrolling, pressing Ctril-Shift-H again, it gain back to scrolling upward… this phenomenon, repeat…, 
    2. the above description answered  this.
    3. this problem appear in all pdf document.
    4. this problem not happened in non-read mode, nor full screen mode, nor in old Acrobat mode. I need to use new Acrobat mode as the old Acrobat mode appear the Black screen in read mode….

    We understand this is frustrating. The auto-scroll direction should remain consistent and not cycle back and forth unexpectedly. Thank you for the clear steps to reproduce it and for the thorough testing you've already done.


    Based on what you've described, this is clearly reproducible and scoped to New Acrobat Reading Mode. We're going to get this to our engineering team for investigation.

    If you're able to share them, the following would help us investigate further:

    1. A short screen recording showing the direction cycling when you press Ctrl+Shift+H three times in sequence.

    2. Acrobat diagnostic logs from your system.


    One more thing: you mentioned Old Acrobat Mode shows a black screen in Reading Mode. Does that black screen also happen in regular (non-reading) mode, or only in Reading Mode?


    Please share the recording and logs, and let us know about the black screen, and we'll take it from there.

    Thank you for reporting this and for the detailed steps to reproduce it. We appreciate you narrowing this down to the new Reading Mode specifically.

    Since you've reset your preferences and updated to the latest version, we'd like to understand the behavior better.


    A few questions:

    1. When you say the Auto Scroll direction reverses, can you describe exactly what happens? For example, does it start scrolling in the opposite direction, or does something else change?

    2. After the direction reverses, what happens if you press Ctrl+Shift+H one more time?

    3. Does this happen with every PDF, or only with certain ones?

    4. To confirm, this doesn't happen in Old Acrobat Mode or in Full Screen mode, correct?


    Please share what you find, and we'll investigate further.
