Question

Automatically close Acrobat home screen when last PDF closed

I am using Adobe Acrobat 2025 on a PC. I would like Acrobat to automatically close after I close the last PDF tab without it going to the Home Screen. It is annoying that I am forced to have to manually close the program. This extra step is unneccessary. I have searched the preferences but find no options to address this issue. In searching the past community  comments, it appears this has been an issue for many years. Is there any chance Adobe will address this?

Hi DaGgerg,

Thank you for reaching out.

There is currently no built-in setting or preference that allows the application to automatically close when the last PDF tab is closed. Instead, Acrobat returns to the Home Screen by default. It is the designed behavior.

You may share your suggestion with the team here: https://adobe.ly/4ljifgM

I hope this information helps you.

Thanks,

Meenakshi
