Automatically Generate a Reference Number

Hi,

For our customers we want them to be able to submit form. I want to assign each form a reference number on the top right corner of the document so we can coordinate with our customers better. (e.g. first person who uses the form will be assigned reference number 1, second will be assigned reference number 2)

Is there anyway for Adobe to automatically go to the next number in the sequence?

Yes, but how will the script know which numbers have been used already, and which haven't? If you do it like that you'll get duplicate numbers. The solution is either to assign those numbers on your end, once the forms have been returned to you, or to use a time-stamp or a random number, instead of a sequential one.
