This requires the use of a DRM solution, as Locklizard: https://www.locklizard.com/pdf_security/

Hi @asif_1954,

Hope you are doing well. Thanks for writing in!

What you are trying to achieve cannot be done directly through Acrobat due to some basic reasons:

  • PDF is a static file format — It doesn't support time-based or usage-based destruction or corruption natively.

  • Acrobat does not provide self-destruction or expiration tools.

  • PDF security settings (like password protection or printing restrictions) can be applied, but they are not foolproof and can be bypassed.

That being said, here are some steps that might be helpful:

Use a secure file-sharing platform with expiration and tracking

  • Use platforms like:

    • Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, or Adobe Document Cloud (https://adobe.ly/4dUtaet)

    • Enable link expiration, view-only permissions, and download restrictions

  • Example: Share the file with a link that expires after 24 hours.

2. Use Adobe Document Cloud (or Adobe Acrobat Sign)

  • Upload your file and set:

    • View-only permissions

    • Time-limited access

    • Audit trail and view tracking

    • Disable download/print (in viewer)

Hope this helps.

Souvik.
