Question

Automating the processing of PDF attachments

Hi,

We receive daily an important volume of emails each containing one or more pdf attachments with specific instructions from our clients. For legal reasons, we need to keep in our database a copy of each instruction received, with a copy of the email that contained the instruction in PDF format. For referencing reasons, we need to add a stamp on the first page of the PDF attachment to confirme the date and time of the reception of the instructions.

To this date, the fastest way for us to process those emails are to print each PDF attachment with a copy of the email that contained the attachment and manually add a stamp on the first page of the attachment to confirm the date and time of the reception of this instruction. Once this is done, we scan the printed attachment and email together to get a single PDF file.

I'm pretty sure there is a simpler way to achieve our goal. Would anyone have any suggestion to implement a solution that would allow us, from a single click in Microsoft Outlook, to :

1) Extract each PDF attachment from the email

2) Add at the end of each PDF attachment a copy of the email that accompanied the attachments

3) Automatically add an electronic stamp on the first page of the PDF to confirm the date and time the email was received.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!
