I am a CPA working with bank statements, hard copies.  I have converted them to a PDF file and now into a word document.  I need to extract the bank transactions in to excel file but I am losing the format of the transactions.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

This is not an easy task, there are not good tools for converting from a PDF to Excel, because it is extremely difficult to properly identify table, data.

That said, it is possible to write a script that extracts the data from the statements, and writes it into a CSV file. but this is not trivial. Message me if you are interested in custom development.  This type of solution is only possible if the text in the statement is in a predictable format.

Hello Thom:

The format is the same every month and I have 9 years of bank statements to convert. Please provide a time line and cost.

Thanks, Thax
