Batch Convert JPGs to PDFs

Hi,

I have many folders with many JPGs, or even better, a Windows Explorer Search Results Window with hundreds of JPGs that I would like to have converted to PDFs. One JPG to one PDF, no joining. The PDFs should be named exactly like their JPG predessors, so no renaming, only converting to PDF. Ideally, the original image files are removed after conversion. 

 

I do have Adobe Acrobat Pro DC but no idea how to go on about this. I found the Action Wizard, the Custom Tool Menu and also the JavaScript Menu, but don't understand how to go on. Preferably, I could select the Images directly in Explorer and start from there. The right-click-menu "Convert to Adobe PDF" does not help as it opens every file at the same time. Then I need to click Save and change the Path in every file. 

 

Can anybody help with this?

You can do it using the Action Wizard. Create an Action and add to it the Save command and then run it.

Although you can't drag files from Windows Explorer directly, you can select them using the Add Files command, or even the entire folder. Note that doing the latter will select ALL files in the folder, and in all of its sub-folders.

Once you've selected your files click on Start and wait for the process to end.

It's possible the last file will remain open in the application (it's a bug in Acrobat Pro DC). You can just close it manually.

@Michael236456191fy8  Please do allow me to step in here. Fact is, I have/had the very same question. and stumbled over your post. Vainly spent hours on searching on Internet for a solution.

@try67 THANK you very much for your solution. I wish I could add such action to the Explorer context menu, or have the context menu option 'Convert to PDF' do the very same thing, i.e. not just converting only, but also do an OCR.
Regretfully it seems not be possible to run an action from some sort of command line (CLI), so it can't be added to the Explorer context menu, whereas the context menu 'Convert to Adobe PDF' doesn't do the OCR, regretfully so. Also each file is opened in a separate tab.
