Question

Bates Labeling series numbering / continuation issue

I'm using Acrobat Pro DC to Bates-Label multiple sets of documents over a period of time.   I have saved the Bates-Label settings and the first document starts at 1.  When I go back in to Bates-Label more documents using that setting, the number resets at 1 and does not continue with the next-in-line number in the series.

How do I fix this issue?

I am wondering if the Start Page Number feature might be of help.  I'm not sure what exact technique you are using, but if you are applying a saved Bates to another PDF, I think it will start with 1 again after the 1st application - but you can manually adjust the starting number for your next set.

My best,

Thank you-

Basically, I'm trying to find out if Adobe Pro DC has a built-in feature that saves the last bates number when you save the settings.

So if I set up my bates numbers and save the settings as "Smith v Jones," I want to be able to bates label some documents, say, 0001-0300 and then come back a week later, using those saved settings in Smith v Jones, and bates label a new set starting at 0301.  Will Adobe pick up where it left off?  Because it is just resetting back to 0001 everytime even though I saved the settings for a particular job/profile.  I have used other programs for this and it keeps track that I stopped at 0300 and puts the next number in-line automatically without me having to remember the number.

Thanks
