Bates Numbering Large Files

I'm having an issue Bates Numbering large files (3,000+ pages), it stops around 1,100. Is there anything I can do besides break the files up?

You probably have Acrobat, because this can't be done in Reader (where you posted), so I'll move your question to one of the Acrobat forums, but what exact version of Acrobat do you have?
