Question

Gracias.

    Hi Iago36668677lj0m,

The team is investigating this issue and needs some additional information to proceed. Please provide the following details:

    • Are you using Windows or Mac? Please share the complete OS version.
    • What was the last version of Adobe Acrobat that you used successfully for signing?
    • Have you attempted to downgrade Acrobat to a previous version? If so, does certificate signing work after the downgrade?
    • Where is the user's digital ID stored? Is it in the Windows Certificate Store, a .pfx/.p12 file, or another location (such as a hardware token or smart card)?
    • Please create a temporary digital ID directly in Acrobat and check if you can use it to digitally sign a sample PDF.
    • Could you share the public certificate only, in .cer or .crt format, via private message or the email. This will help us examine the certificate's validity dates and other properties.

We look forward to your response.

    Thanks,

    Meenakshi

    Windows 10 Pro 22H2

    Hi Iago36668677lj0m,

Thank you for sharing the information.

To determine if the issue is related to the application, could you please try signing with an alternate signature or certificate to see if you get the same result?

Additionally, please collect the logs for the process by following the steps outlined in Adobe Acrobat Diagnostics. Once you have collected the logs, kindly share the log ID with us.

Let us know if you need any help.

    Thanks,

    Meenakshi

    Hello @Iago36668677lj0m,

Thank you for reaching out. I hope you’re doing well. Based on your description, Acrobat becomes unresponsive after a recent update when you try to certify a document, and it displays the message “the credential selected to sign is not valid” after you select the certificate.

To help us review this further, please share the following details:

    • The Acrobat version currently installed (Menu > Help > About Acrobat) and the operating system version.

    • Does the same behavior occur with other PDF documents?

    • Have you tried repairing the Acrobat installation? On Windows, go to Menu > Help > Repair Installation. Once the repair is complete, restart the computer and test the workflow again.

In the meantime, you may try the following workaround suggested below:

    1. Open Menu > Preferences in Acrobat.

    1. Select Signatures from the Categories list.

    1. Under Verification, select More.

    1. Temporarily uncheck “Require certificate revocation checking to succeed whenever possible.”

    1. Select OK to close the Signature Verification Preferences window.

    1. Select OK again to save the changes, then retry the workflow.

We hope this helps. Let us know if you need any assistance.

    Regards,

    ^PV
