  1. Good evening, a friend and myself are writing and illustrating a book. What format of Adobe would I use for the book to be print ready for the publisher?

The format that the publisher asks for. Yes, really. The first thing a pro has to do is find out what needs to be delivered. Some want PDF/X-3 with one profile. Some want PDF/X-1a with another profile. Some want InDesign documents. Some want obsolete formats like EPS. Don't guess, and don't start work until you know.

 

(If you are actually asking what app to use to make the pages, InDesign is probably the answer. On no account try to make up pages in Acrobat itself, for many reasons).
