Bookmark icon no longer showing in in the Navigation panel after years of using it

I am using Adobe Acrobat Standard 9 and working on a appeal brief that is a very large file.  I was going through and bookmarking as required by the court and suddenly the bookmark icon disappeared from the navigation panel. Now it is this way on every PDF document I have on my computer. The bookmarks are still there when I open the document in a different PDF reader program and I can manually open the bookmark panel but it shows up as a small window on top of the file instead of in the navigation panel, where it is so much easier to navigate. Help! I have a filing deadline coming up.

    Just solved the problem! If you right click on the navigation panel and select the tools you want then click dock, it reappears in the navigation panel.
