Question

Bookmarks pane text and background colors don't have enough contrast

I changed the colors under preferences to replace the documents colors. This seems to have affected the colors in the bookmarks pane. When I hover over the bookmarks, the white color turn into black.
If I revert the colors in preferences and hover over the text in the bookmarks pane, the text changes into white. I find this behavior unexpected. Is this a bug? Is there a way to stop the behavior? I need the text to be white so I can read it easily.

I am using the latest Acrobat Reader version in Windows 11.

Hi @tonyh55581104,

Following up to check if your issue is resolved or not. An update for the app was released this week.

Please try updating your application to the latest available version: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/release-note/release-notes-acrobat-reader.html, and let us know if your issue gets fixed.

To update: Launch Acrobat > Help Menu > Check for updates and follow the onscreen instructions to update Acrobat.

If you are still experiencing this issue, it is also happening with other files. Please share a video of the problem and the Operating system name and version.

Hi @tonyh55581104,

Thank you for sharing the details and post-update experience.

Please let us know if this is happening with all or a few files. Also, please share a sample file with us and let us know what theme is currently selected on Acrobat. Is it Dark, grey, Light Gray, or a System theme? Lastly, are you using Windows or Mac, including the operating system version number? I see you have mentioned Windows 11 in your initial post, is that the same machine?

Thank you for your help and patience.

@tonyh55581104 I have a feeling it may have to do with your computer's theme. I know on my computer I can change either to be in light or dark mode. In this example, I was able to change my mode to light in Acrobat. Check to see if your can do that in Acrobat

If I switch to light gray then the whole interface is bright. All my apps are in dark mode. While this works, it's not what I like it to be. Thanks. I am going to report it as a bug. There needs to be enough contrast.
