Bookmarks panel display

Many times I delete the bookmarks from downloaded statements, close the bookmarks panel and save the file. However every time I open the pdf, the bookmarks panel displays without any bookmarks and covers 75% of the pdf window so I have to close it every time I open the file.

How can I permanently stop the bookmarks panel from displaying every time I open a pdf?

It's most likely caused by a setting in the file itself. Go to File (or Menu) Properties - Initial View and set "Navigation Tab" to "Page Only". You will have to do this for each file, though, there's no global option that does it for all files by default.

We have tried all the options presented. Even docs that previously opened without the super annoying page consuming bookmarks panel, revert back to opening with this panel. Where is the fix please??????

I just followed these steps and it worked like a Champ. No more bookmarks tab when opening a .PDF!!

Open Adobe without opening a file
Go to Preferences> Documents
Select "Restore last view settings when reopening documents"
Click "OK"
Open an Adobe file.
Close the bookmarks panel.
Save and close the Adobe file.
The next document you open should have the bookmarks panel closed

Thank you.. This setting prevented the bookmarks window from reapearing when opening the file again.

I am suprised this is not a global setting however. The bookmarks panel becoming predominate when opening a file is something that started occuring in one of the more recent releases.
