Question

BOX Drive lock file feature not working on PDF files on a MAC

Morning,

We utilize BOX to manage all of our content, pictures, videos, InDesign files, Word & Excel files etc..

One of the features that BOX has is to lock a file while you work on it, to prevent collisions when other users try to open the same file. This lock feature works fine on all files apart from PDFs on a MAC-based system.

We have contacted BOX support and their engineering team has said it is an issue with the Adobe integration and that we need to contact Adobe to resolve it.

My question before I try and navigate the black hole that is Adobe support is, are any other users seeing this behavior in their BOX drive instance on a MAC?

Thanks

Hi @MarkIrenee

We apologize for the delay in response to your issue reported here. If you continue to experience the same problem, then try a couple of suggestions given below-

1- If it's only pdf files from within Acrobat for Box integration, then Sign out of the Box account once and sign back in. When you log in to your Box account, can you access this feature there?

2-

Go to Acrobat> Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once (you must save all the work before restarting)

To download the patch manually, more information about this release is here: Release Notes | Adobe Acrobat, Reader

Thanks,

Akanchha
