[BUG] Native translation functionality completely broken in Acrobat Standard (Bilingual & 100% English PDFs)
Hello, I am writing to formally report a critical design flaw and functional block regarding the native translation feature in Adobe Acrobat Standard (active individual paid subscription). The native translation tool (via Adobe Express) is completely broken due to the following structural issues:
1. Bilingual PDFs Failure: The interface lacks a manual "Source Language" selector. When processing a bilingual PDF (English/Spanish), the auto-detection algorithm enters a logical loop and crashes silently, rendering the feature useless. It also fails when trying to translate English blocks manually.
2. 100% English PDFs Failure: To isolate the issue, I tested a form written entirely and exclusively in English. The system still fails silently and does not process the translation at all. This proves that the basic translation engine for Standard users is either blocked or severely bugged.
3. Misleading Account Dashboard: My account menu explicitly states that I have "Generative AI usage / Credit balance available," yet the software blocks basic, standard document translation unless the user upgrades or purchases the "AI Assistant" add-on. To make matters worse, front-line chat support eluded the technical issue and falsely claimed that I "never had access" to the AI Assistant. I must remind Adobe that during 2024, the AI Assistant was widely deployed in an open Beta phase for Standard accounts and was fully functional on my interface before being quietly removed for commercial reasons. The supervisor on shift refused to log this bug and simply told me to try again on Monday. As a paying customer, I find it unacceptable that core software features are degraded to force cross-selling. I request this ticket to be formally escalated to the Acrobat engineering team to audit this translation block on Standard plans. Thank you.
