Question

Bug or Flaw? Disparities between Acrobat and other PDF software in selecting and highlighting text

Here is an example of what Acrobat does:

THE SAME  in PDFExpert:

If I highlight the texts, the Acrobat interface will have gaps; the PDFExpert version does not. If I OCR the page, there is no difference.

It seems that Acrobat is reading the 'surface' differently (less helpuflly). Is that a known bug or flaw? Very irritating.

Hi @JIPJIPNET,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for the trouble.

Would you mind sharing the file with us to test the issue in-house?

Also, a few more pieces of information for further investigation:

1. The app version number of Acrobat you use (go to Menu-> Help-> About Acrobat);

2. The OS [Windows/Mac] and its version;

3. A sample file to test this in-house.

Best practices can be found here: https://adobe.ly/4iUQIle.

Also, ensure that you are on the latest version of Acrobat (2025.001.2043x) for the best experience.

To do so, go to Menu-> Help-> Check for Updates.

Regards,
Souvik.
