Can I lock data on a form

I created an interactive PDF form for people in our office to fill out. Once the form has gone through several hands and the data is complete, is there a way to "lock" the data so the form is no longer editable?

You don't need a script if you use a digital signature (which is the only secure way of doing it, anyway).

After you create the field go to its Properties, and under the Signed tab select this option:

You can use a digital certificate to sign the form or a script to lock the fields.

Thanks, but I have no idea how to write a script. I was hoping there would be a command within Acrobat to "lock" the document.
