Can I use Adobe Acrobat Standard DC to send a PDF for signature?  If not, what sign program upgrade is recommended, cost efficient, most simple?

Using the Acrobat Standard DC subscription, you can use the "Send for Signature" feature to send the out and get it signed.

If you have not subscribed for any subscription yet, then you can go for either Adobe Acrobat Pro/Std DC subscription or Adobe Sign
