Question

Can not print 20MB PDF file with Acrobat DC but Foxit can

Dear all,

I am using Acrobat DC, check and updated already.

I have a PDF file with lots of pictures, diagram, and text. It's about 23MB and 161 pages.

When printing, it only spooling about 40-60 pages (different from time to time). Then showing that the document can not be printed.

On the printer, only about 40-60 pages printed out (duplex) while the document is 161 pages.

The same thing happen with Acrobat Reader.

I have check the printer, it's fine, quite new HP model, with enough RAM.

The important thing is that if I use Foxit Reader, then I CAN print that PDF files WITHOUT any issue on the same printer.

There could be a bug in Adobe Acrobat and Acrobat Reader.

Please investigate and fix.

Thank you

It would also be necessary for us to have a sample file that exhibits the problem. Otherwise there is no way to replicate and fix the issue if it is indeed in Acrobat itself.

Hi There,

Thanks for reporting the issue.

As of now, if you're facing this issue; please try to use Print as Image instead of direct printing as a temporary work around.

Follow these steps to do so : Open PDF > Click on Print > Click on Advanced > Checkbox for "Print as Image" > Print

Can you provide few missing information regarding the issue :

  1. OS version (WIN or MAC and version)
  2. Acrobat/Reader's version installed on which the issue is observed
  3. Name & Driver of the HP printer installed
  4. Is the same happening for all file(s) or just specific to one file
  5. Can you share the file if possible?

These queries will help us identify the issue.

Regards,

Swapnil Srivastava
