Can only see page number in tags- although document is tagged and passes

The document is tagged and passes. When I look in the tags panel I only see the page number. However, when I click on the container view and I select show in tags panel, I see all of the page tags. Why can't I see all the tags in the tag panel without the second step? File was exported from InDesign. Thanks.

Thanks for reaching out! I understand how confusing it can be when the tags don’t appear as expected in the Tags panel, especially when your document is fully tagged and passes the checks.

Please provide a bit more information:

Which version of InDesign are you using?
Could you also share details about your operating system?

In the meantime, here are a few things you can try:

Try exporting the document again with different tagging options to see if that changes anything.
Please try resetting your InDesign preferences and update us if it helps. Reference: Set preferences in Adobe InDesign
