can print pdf files from my iPhone just fine, but they print distorted from my MacBook Pro. I have installed the latest downloads/drivers from the Brother website, and my Mac is fully up to date. have restarted both, still having issues. 
Other applications print fine from your Mac?
As you mention printing from an iOS device, I suppose that your printer is AirPrint enabled.
