Can't Access Adobe Acrobat DC

Successfully installed Adobe Acrobat DC on my Windows 11 computer. The 'shortcut' and other ways to access it don't work, and I get a dialogue box that mentions protected mode. I read about ways to disable the mode, but I can't get to Preferences to change it.
