Can't change text field color in fillable pdf

I need to change the background color of a text field in a fillable pdf. I'm editing the form in Acrobat, and when I try to set the color for the field, it brings up color palettes, but there isn't a way to apply the color to the field. A screenshot is attached. How can I actually select the color to apply it to the text field?
