Can't crop

I tried cropping a page in Acrobat and it says "Page Size May not be reduced." Well, that's the entire point of cropping. What gives? Why is this so difficult?

Mac S 10.14

Acrobat 2018 and 2019.

You can crop:

But that does not take away the content:

That function didn't work for me. I needed to use the "Change Page Size" area, because I didn't want to have to do the math to figure out exactly how much I needed to crop on all four sides. This is such a basic function. It shouldn't be this hard for the end user. I've been using Acrobat for 20 years. My solution was NOT using Acrobat for this task.

Change page size will only increase the page size.

Apparently, this has been a problem for at least seven years. Crop Pages error - Page size may not be reduced

I just ended up exporting a new PDF without crops.
