Can't delete field

I am creating a form with fields and when I click on the field I get this second blue/grey field appearing and I want to delete it.

Any thoughts?

You can delete the form field in the form edit mode

It looks like the field highlighting is turned on. Edit > Preferences > Forms > Show border hover color for fields.

Thanks for your reply but I want to delete this field entirely.

In the field properties, bottom left corner of the General tab, there is a check box called "Locked". Is it checked? Uncheck it.
