Question

Can't edit pdfs anymore

Hi ,

Acrobat Professional 2015/Windows 10.

I was editing scanned PDFs for many years using above mentioned version of Acrobat.

I have a file (scancopy) which I can open and edit with my old laptop.

I have installed the same version to a brand new laptop with Win 11. It doesn't recognise any editable text and give me error.
"acrobat has detected that this page doesn't have editable text..."

Tried the same version of Acrobat with brand new Win 10 laptop. Same story .

So out of 3 laptops only one can edit text in my pdf file.

What is wrong with it ?  I already copied all the fonts from my old laptop to a new ones. It didn't help...

What else I can try ?

I never amended any Preferences (setting) so it should be identical for all 3 devices.

Any help or suggestion will be highly appreciated.

Best,

Oleg

What happens when you perform OCR on the new laptop?

If from 'Edit PDF' tool... I get
"acrobat has detected that this page doesn't have editable text..." Seems Auto-OCR starting , trying to execute but fails with error mesage.

If I'm running 'Recognize text' from 'Enhance Scans' tool I'm getting searchable PDF.

But still can't edit PDF contents.

What options does you use?

In addition... If I will perform Adobe OCR (Edit) for the pdf and save it using my old laptop , then I can edit it from new laptop.
