Can’t edit text pdf

Can someone help me to edit text in a pdf? It was working fine yesterday and now today when I try to select text it just shows the DELETE option and will delete my entire document instead.

Is this happening with every document or just one particular PDF?

Also, is this issue manifesting in a Microsoft Windows computer or macOS?

In the case of MS Windows, what happens if you click on "Help"--->>> "Repair Installation" ?

I think that is happening because a scanned document is basically a set of image layers that were merged into one, I may be wrong though.

Are you using the "Edit PDF" tool or the "Prepare Form" tool?

In any case, if you are trying to select text, you may have to employ the "Scan & OCR" tool first in order to attempt to make text and images searcheable.

This particular tool will attempt to recognize text out of the scanned images , if this is what you're referring to, of course.

On the downside, this method doesn't always work well with recognizing characters if the source document, for example, was produced with another program; specifically if this document is using different languages, symbols, typography, etc.); you may need to recreate the PDF from scratch.

But to be sure of what is going on, Would you be able to share an example of this file?
