Can't edit without character spacing changing

Hey there,

So I'm trying to make minor changes to a pdf document (for example, replacing "bare" with "bear"), but often when I do, the format of the paragraph changes completely, and overlaps other independent text boxes.

How do I either revert this (character spacing, for example) or prevent it from happening?

PDF files were never meant to be edited directly. Doing so is always going to be tricky and even dangerous.

Instead, go back to the original file used to create the PDF, edit it and then create a new PDF file from it.

I purchased this program specifically and exclusive to edit a single PDF, for which I no longer have the original file. Any further help would be appreciated.
