Question

Can't size or resize a comment.

When I create a comment it automatically resides it to where it over laps the comment on the original text. Then when I try resizing the comment it doesn't let me.

I looked at another post that had an answer but I couldn't find the menu it was talking about.

    Hello @Merry_Breezee169,

I hope you are doing well, and thanks for sharing the details. Sorry for the trouble you had.

The correct resize method depends on the type of comment you added:

    • Text Box comment: Select Select text from the Quick Actions toolbar, select or double-click the text box, and then drag one of its edges to resize it.

    • Text Callout: Select the callout and drag one of the handles. You can drag inside the box to move the text box or drag the endpoint to move the entire callout.

If you meant a different kind of comment, such as a sticky note or a comment attached to selected text, the resizing steps may be different. Which comment tool are you using, and are you on Windows or macOS?

The menu you couldn't find: if you don't see options to change a text box's appearance, turn on the Properties toolbar, then you can right-click the comment and adjust its properties. (If you're on the newer Acrobat interface, the comment tools sit on the Quick action toolbar and the floating bar that appears when a comment is selected, rather than in an old-style top menu, which is probably why the other post's menu didn't match what you see.)

Please ensure you have the latest version of Acrobat installed on the machine: Win: 26.002.21996, Mac: 26.002.22008, Planned update, Oct 06, 2026. Check for any pending updates by navigating to Menu > Help> Check for Updates. Install the updates, restart the app and the machine, and try again.

I hope this helps, and please reach out if you need any assistance.

    Regards,

    Anand Sri.
