The cancellation fee is half of the remaining due, not of the whole annual charge. Indeed, you promised to take a subscription for one year, and you want to cancel early. For allowing you to cancel early, Adobe takes half of the remaining dues as a cancellation fee. If you would like to avoid the cancellation fee, you need to fulfil your contract, or you would have needed to take a monthly subscription, which is pricier.

The early termination fee is part of the terms and conditions you agreed upon when you took your subscription.
