CANNOT DOWNLOAD OR OPEN FILES

Can someone please help? Super frustrated with Adobe right now.. All of the sudden, I am unable to download anything as a .pdf and if I somehow manage to get it saved then it won't open! MY JOB DEPENDS ON DOWNLOADING PDFs, OPENING THEM CONSTANTLY AND ATTACHING THEM TO RECEIPTS AND INVOICES IN SOFTWARE.

1. I usually clck on the printer button which opens the seperate document page, click printer button again then 'save as pdf'. WILL SAVE, WON'T OPEN IF I CLICK IT FROM MY DOCS FOLDER. Keeps saying that it won't open because it's in use by another application.

3. I can sometimes manage to open a document if the field pops up on the side of the document in my browser saying 'open in Adobe' but it doesn't appear everytime.

4. If I can manage to open it, I can't save because there is a 'file I/O error'

Adobe updated yesterday and have had nothing but problems since.

Hi kaci

We are sorry for the trouble. As described you have started expericing the issue after te recent update of the application.

Would you mind sharing the version of the Adobe Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Adobe Acrobat DC  and makse sure you have the latest version 20.12.20041 installed. Go to Help > Check for Updates.

As you are unable to save the PDF file and getting the error message 'Already in use by another application' are you saving the PD file on a shared network/drive ? If yes, please try to save it locally on you r comouter and check. You may also try to turn off the protected mode for testing. Go to Edit (Windows), Adobe Acrobat DC (Mac) > Preferences > Enhanced Security  > Turn off the protedted mode and uncheck the Enhanced Security > Click OK and reboot the application and check.

As you are also getting the file I/O Error, please try to clear some memory space on the drive and see if that makes any difference.

Let us know how it goes

Regards

Amal
