Cannot open documents saved in previous versions of Adobe PDF.  All have a lockbox ICON in front of them.

As of today it appears as if everything is back to normal.  Everything is cloud stored (that’s what the little cloud means, right)!  But, what if I don’t want to visit the cloud or if my cloud storage program should expire (let’s say I close my GoDaddy account), can I move certain important files directly to my hard drive on my desktop?  How do I prevent this from happening in the future?  Thank you.

I can only open recently saved to PDF documents.  Most of the historical documents, up to a week ago, will not open.  Not restricted to PDF documents.  Also the case for some Publisher and Excel documents.

    Hi @Incredible_Whirlcd99,

Thank you for sharing the screenshot, and we understand how disruptive it is to lose access to a week's worth of documents across different file types.

Looking at the screenshot you shared, we don't see a lock icon on the files listed there; they show the standard file type icons. Could you confirm whether the lock icon appears directly on the file thumbnail or icon, or elsewhere (for example, in the file properties or in a pop-up when you try to open it)? A follow-up screenshot showing the lock icon specifically would help.

It would also help to confirm:

    1. Can you open any PDF at all, including a brand new one you create today?

    2. Are the affected files stored locally on this PC, or in a synced location such as OneDrive, SharePoint, or a network drive?

Please share these details, and we'll take it from there.

    Thanks,
    ^BS

Where do you see the lock icon? Mac or Windows? Can you open any pdf files?
