Question

Cannot Paste Text Between PDFs in Adobe Acrobat

I have several PDF documents. From one PDF document, I want to copy an address one-to-one to another.

I clicked on "Edit PDF," selected the text box, and chose "Copy with Formatting." Then, I switched to the tab with the other PDF document, clicked on "Edit PDF" again, and pasted. This worked the first time, but now I want to repeat the process, and I no longer see the paste option. It is "greyed out."

I tried repeating the same steps on the original PDF document where it initially worked, but now it doesn't work there either.

I have closed and restarted Adobe Acrobat, but the issue persists.

What could be causing this problem?

Hi @Kim5CFA,

Hope you are doing well. Thanks for writing in!

From the description, it seems that your device's Clipboard history is disabled, which leads to this.

When you copy a section and paste it in the next, the history is cleared unless it is added to the Clipboard.

You might want to try pressing "Win key + V" to get to the clipboard window and enable the clipboard history.

Once done, the next time you press the Win+V buttons, you should be able to see all the texts you have copied earlier and choose to paste the required section.

Let me know if this works for you.
