My hard drive was recently corrupted. Fixed now but I cannot read my PDF files any more. I have updated/repaired/ re-loaded Acrobat Reader DC but when try to open a PDF file I get this message " Adobe Acrobat reader could not open May.pdf because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged.( for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).

Also, connected to this problem is, when I go to select a printer in Microsoft Word, and I select " Print to PDF I get this message..."There was an internal error, and Internet explorer is unable to print this document"

I don't use Internet explorer. Can anyone help please. Thanks...

What can you see when you open the PDF file in Notepad?
