Cant completely close adobe from Taskbar

Regularly when i try and close adobe, i am unable to fully close the program in the task bar.

I just shows a grey pop up from the app, it cant be opened or closed using the X button.

When i right click the app on the taskbar, there is no option to close - it acts like nothing is open.

When i click the app on the taskbar, a new adobe opens.

I have nothing Adobe running on my task manager

If I open a PDF, it opens as a new app running.

Hello @Awesome_Eclipse6691

I hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out.

  • Please close all Acrobat/Reader windows.
  • Open Task Manager → Details and end Acrobat.exe / AcroRd32.exe and any AcroCEF processes (if present).
  • Restart the machine once.
  • Please ensure you have the latest version of Acrobat installed on the machine: 25.001.20937. Planned update, Nov 20, 2025. Check for any pending updates by navigating to Menu > Help> Check for Updates. Install the updates, restart the app and the machine, and try again.
  • If the issue continues, perform a clean installation of Acrobat. Use the Acrobat Cleaner tool to remove the installed app, restart your machine, and then reinstall Acrobat
  • Please ensure that all mandatory and optional updates for the operating system are installed.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Anand Sri.
