When creating a PDF from the "Save As" in office 365, how to make sure the generated PDF will be restricted as inhereted from the office 365 app like word or excel? Does Adobe Acrobat Pro allow for this? for example, an office 365 word file was read-only restricted to someone, that recipient saved the file as PDF and shared it with others, how to keep the same read-only restrictions in the generated PDF?

PDF and Word security options are completely different, so no, you can't have the PDF automatically "inherit" the security policy you applied in Word, you have to re-apply it.

    Hi Lyad

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble.

'Save As PDF' option in office 365 is Microsoft process to create the PDF files. You may try to create the PDF using the Acrobat Ribbon in the tool bar in MS office application and apply the password restrictions to the PDF as desired.

To know how please check out the help pages listed below:

Note: All Adobe Products enforce the restrictions set by the permission password. However not all third party products fully support and respect these settings. Recipients using such third party applications may be able to bypass some of these restrictions.

    Hope this information will help.

    Regards

    Amal
