Question

CHANGE autor name (locked)

Hello,

When I use the "COMMENT" tool, an author name is mentioned in the comment window.

I would like to change this name. But I can't do it: when I ask for "property" the author's name zone is greyed out and locked.

In fact, when I go to "my preferences", to the "identity" tab (in the left drop-down list), I see that the identifier corresponds to the author's name.

The zone is grayed out and locked. When I go to my account, I can't find anything that allows me to change the login.

Could one of you please tell me how to change the name of the author displayed in all the comments of my documents.

With my thanks,

You can't do that because someone else wrote it.

Image if there was a report and you said in your comment that it was brilliant. Then it went to someone else and changed it to say the plan was very bad and could damage everyone involved.

Then it was sent to the president of the company.

Only you can change what you wrote. It stops there.

Hello,
Thank you for your answer. However, I can only disagree, since I am the only person who created and commented on the document, and despite that I cannot change my identity to comment. The identity that appears is a pseudonym and I would like to be able to put my name there to send professional documents!

Hi Deddel,

Please forgive me. I failed to understand the specifics of what you are dealing with in your initial request for help.

It's been my experience that the name that shows up when making a comment in a PDF is the name associated with the account at Adobe. If your account is listed as "Joe Smith," and your real name is "Bob Jones," even if it's your account, Joe Smith will remain even if you are Bob Jones. I'm not sure if you updated your account from Bob Jones to Joe Smith, whether you can then go back and change the Joe Smith name in the Comment section.

The problem you do have is that Adobe is very security concerned. Therefore, any meddling of things, such as the authors' names of comments, is very tightly controlled (as you've observed). I am unaware of any way around this; maybe others will be able to put forth a suggestion.

Good luck
