Change type of comment from STRIKETHROUGH_TEXT to REPLACE_TEXT

Hi‭, ‬I received PDF with hundreds of corrections that I would like to insert automatically to the original InDesign's document‭ (‬trough PDF Comments‭ function) ‬but they were done as‭ "‬ STRIKETHROUGH_TEXT‭" ‬and not as a‭ "‬REPLACE_TEXT". ‬Is it possible to change their type by a script‭?‬

Thanks for any idea!

Actually, it is possible to do it using a script, but it's a bit tricky because "Replace Text" is not really a comment type. Each such comment is composed out of two annotations (the technical name for comments), a strike-through and a "caret" (the little triangle that appears at the end), and they are bonded together using several properties.

If you're interested in hiring a professional to create such a script for you, feel free to contact me privately by clicking my user-name and then on the blue "Message" button.

Hi @pruka.j,

Thanks for reaching out with the question.

Sadly, it is not possible to replace the type of commenting function, which in your case is "STRIKETHROUGH_TEXT" with "REPLACE_TEXT", if those were done using Adobe Acrobat. If that was done through any home-grown tool, you may check with your developer.

If you have any additional feedback or questions, feel free to share them. We’re always looking for ways to improve your experience!
