Changed text color for entire pdf, edits not showing up or saving

Hello,

 

I'm using Acrobat on a Macbook and I'm trying to change the font color for all the text in a 76-page pdf. I went to Preferences, Accessibility, Document Colors Options, Custom Color, and changed the Document Text color to dark grey. I see the changes in Acrobat, but my pdf still has black text when I open it in Preview. Thanks.

This does not change the file, only how it is displayed on the screen.

You might be able to make such a global change with the Preflight tool, but I'm not sure about that.

PDF files were really not meant to be edited in such an extensive way.

Thanks, I don't think using Preflight changed anything so I ended up coloring it manually.
