I do not work for Adobe. This is not Adobe tech support, but in any case they will not help. This is a very old version indeed, and the activation servers were switched off.

So long as you have a retail version (not volume license) you can receive a replacement installer and serial number, though it still is not suitable for current systems. Start here: Activation or connection error when starting CS3 or Acrobat 8

Caroline,

Adobe serial number is a group of total 24 digit number. e.g. 1234-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx. If you have a set of 5 groups, then you are missing one set. To find the serial number you may refer to Serial numbers, redemption codes, and product codes | Student and Teacher editions  Link: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/x-productkb/global/student-teacher-serial-product-code.html

If it's an old product, you may have to look into the Product Box which you received or on the disc sleeve. Or login on Adobe.com with the ID through which you have registered it.

Hello Carrofalk,

As per the description above, you are not able to install Acrobat as it's asking for a serial number, Is that correct?

I have checked the records and found that you are subscribed to Adobe ExportPDF on your current Adobe ID which you have used to sign in on Adobe forums.

If you are referring to Adobe ExportPDF service, you can access the service through a browser or it can be accessed through the desktop and mobile app Adobe Reader DC. Online services i.e. ExportPDF cannot be downloaded as an application.

To access the Adobe ExportPDF service, use the URL https://cloud.acrobat.com/exportpdf Sign in with your Adobe ID and password.

To use the service through the free desktop version of Reader, download and install the Reader from https://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ Sign in with your Adobe ID and password and use the service.

If you are subscribed to any Acrobat license on a different Adobe ID, then you can download and install the Acrobat from Download Pro or Standard versions of Acrobat DC, 2017, XI, or X  Link: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html and can use the serial key for activation.

To find the serial number you may refer to Find your serial number  Link: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/x-productkb/global/find-your-serial-number.html

Hope this helps, and let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Anand Sri.

that's not a serial number.

you have 3 ways to recover a serial number that you once had:

1. if you purchased from or registered with adobe (automatically done with cs6):,

    a. you can check your account, https://accounts.adobe.com

    b. you can check with adobe support* (be prepared to give the email address used when registering purchasing)

2. if your adobe program is installed on another computer you can recover its serial number from that computer, (win:) http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html, (mac:)  https://mac-product-key-finder.com/

3. http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html

*

using a browser that allows popups and cookies,  contact adobe support during pst business hours by clicking here and, when available, click 'chat', http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/service-ccm.html

if you see an invalid serial number message and assuming you're using a valid adobe serial number (6 groups of 4 numbers), you have a mismatch between your installation file and serial number.  ie, you can have a valid serial number, but if it's for program A and your installation file is for program B, you will see an invalid serial number message.

common mismatches are language/region (eg, serial number is for western europe and installation file is eastern europe), platform (eg, serial number is for a mac and installation file is win), license type (eg, education vs enterprise vs individual).

and one of the most common is using a program installation file with a suite's serial number. eg, using a cs6 suite serial number with a photoshop cs6 installation file.  that won't work even though photoshop is included in that suite.  you must use the suite's installation file (and you can choose to only install one program from the suite).

here's official info about that error,  http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-serial-number-valid-product.html
