Good morning,

I have created a fillable form in Adobe Acrobat Pro to make it easier for people to sign.

I have tried emailing it to myself but the checkboxes arent checkable, the text fields are working but the checkboxes are just the outlines... When emailed to an iphone for exmaple; you can press fill form, which is what i want people to be able to do, but the checkboxes arent able to be checked, only the text fields.

I have checked the permissions and i have no restrictions, i dont think,  PLEASE HELP!!

Good Morning,

Thankyou for getting back to me.

I have attempted to send it to my personal email to see if it works but
unable to check the boxes. I saved it like you mentioned in your email, but
that doesn't work either.

I also tried adding it to Google Drive and adding the file to the email
from Google Drive, and that didnt work, if thats what i was supposed to do.
I have attached the form, for your appraisal.

Im not sure what the issue is..

Hi there

We hope you are doing well. Thanks for reaching out. We are sorry for the trouble you are experiencing.

Would you mind sharing the steps you took to create the PDF form? A short video recording would be very helpful for more clarity.

Also, make sure you save the form as a Reader-enabled PDF so others can fill it out using Adobe Acrobat Reader or on mobile.

  • Go to File > Save As Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools (includes fill-in & save)

If users open the PDF in a non-Adobe app (like Safari preview or Mail preview), it might not support checkbox interactivity.

To ensure full functionality:

  • Ask them to open the form in the Adobe Acrobat Reader app on their mobile device. It’s free on the App Store.

  • Or, upload the PDF to a cloud service (like Dropbox or Google Drive) and open it using Acrobat from there.

Let us know how it goes.
