I have Adobe Acrobat Pro X.. Somehow the color settings have changed, and when I open the PDF for example..dark green is now lime green and it will print lime. How can I change the color settings to a default setting?

Hi lynns45105784,

As you mentioned that when you open PDF in Acrobat Application the color of the PDF changes.

Is it an issue with all the files or some particular files? Have you checked with other PDFs?

Try once to repair the application installation. If you are on Windows, launch the application and go to Help menu > Repair installation.

Also try once to reset the preferences of the application. Refer the steps provided here: How to reset Acrobat Preference settings to default.

Check if it makes any changes.

Let us know if you need any help or have any questions.

Regards,

Meenakshi

Hi Meenakshi;

My husband is in IT and we did follow those steps in the document you provided. The colors didn't change at all. Can you please tell me what the "defaults" are for the Convert Colors tool? And also what the "defaults" are for Color Management under Preferences? Thank you so much for your help.

There is absolutely nothing that “repair installation” will do to resolve the issue you described.

And “Convert Colors” unless explicitly invoked won't cause anomalies in how colors in a particular PDF file are initially displayed or printed.

Color management settings for Acrobat can be found in Preferences=>Color Management via Ctrl-K. Typically, upon installation, the default RGB color space is Monitor RGB. The CMYK color space, at least in North America, is typically set to U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2. Those shouldn't cause any color anomalies of the type you describe. Typically, many users will change those preferences to the settings of either North America General Purpose 2 or North America Prepress 2. Neither of these should cause the anomaly you describe either.

Perhaps you can post your PDF file somewhere such that we can examine it and determine what colors really should display and print?!?
