Question

Combine or add page

Hello,

I was not using Acrobat since a long time but today I needed to combine pdfs or, basically, add one pdf page to a pdf document.

Both are fine solutions to me but on Acrobat (web) none of them works.

Is it because of the files or this process is somehow not working at the moment?

I also tried to download the same documents singularly from the app and combine the copies afterwards,m same result.

Please, if you can let me know what I can do here.

Thanks a million!

Hello @Davide36694148scy8

I hope you are doing well, and we're sorry for the trouble you had.

Do you receive any error messages while trying to combine PDF files/add a PDF page to an existing PDF? Have you tried using the Acrobat Pro Desktop app for the combining process? On the web, which browser do you use? Are you using a Mac or Windows machine, and what version is it? Do you get any error message with a specific PDF file or with all the PDFs?

Acrobat online tools have the following limits:

  • Acrobat online tools support PDF files of 100MB or less, except for the PDF to Word and PDF to PPT tools that support files up to 200MB, and the Compress PDF tool that lets you compress a PDF that is 2GB or smaller.
  • A maximum of 1,500 pages is supported by these tools: Delete PDF pages, Rotate PDF pages, Reorder PDF pages, Extract PDF pages, Insert PDF pages, and Crop PDF. When adding files to a PDF, each inserted file is limited to a maximum of 500 pages.
  • See this article for more details: FAQ | Try Adobe Acrobat online services.

If you have the desktop app installed, please ensure you have the latest version of Acrobat installed on the machine: 25.001.20997. Planned update: December 9, 2025. Check for any pending updates by navigating to Menu > Help> Check for Updates. Install the updates, restart the app and the machine, and try again.

On the web, try using a different browser and then try again.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.

Hi AnandSri,

thanks for your reply.

At the end it simply works with the app, that I didn't use so far as I was used to the web application.

Anyway, I can tell you what happens on web and maybe can help you to address the problem you could encounter with some other users.

I use an Apple M3 Pro

Chrome as Browser

The combine files were 1 pdf with 6 pages and another 1 page pdf

What I receive, what appears, is a double error/red toast message with "Could not organize" as text.

Please, find the screenshot attached.

Kind regards,

Davide

Hello @Davide36694148scy8

Thank you for the detailed follow-up and the screenshot.
The double red toast “Could not organize” in Acrobat Web typically indicates that the browser couldn’t finish the cloud‑side “prepare & stage” step for Combine/Organize (upload > analyze > queue > merge). It often isn’t about the files themselves, especially when the same PDFs work in the desktop app, but rather about something in the browser/session or a blocked request during that staging phase. Try changing the browser context or re-uploading and processing the PDFs first.

Suggestions

  • Open an Incognito window in Chrome and sign in to Acrobat Web; then try combining again. This bypasses cached tokens and most extensions.
  • Disable extensions temporarily (such as ad blockers, privacy, and script-control) and retry. If that works, add adobe.com / acrobat.adobe.com to the extension’s allowlist.
  • Clear Chrome cache & site data for adobe.com and acrobat.adobe.com and close/reopen Chrome; sign in again. Similar reports show that a stale session causes this toast.
  • Pre‑upload, then combine: From the Acrobat Web Home page, upload each PDF first, then select them from Recent and run Combine.

Let us know how it goes.
    Regards,
    Anand Sri.
