Combining File Problem persists on Macbook Pro 2018

Question

I have noted various posts on this issue. The posts seems to suggest that the issue is related to the file type - however these files combine when uploaded to the cloud.

"There were 2 errors encountered while combining files. Do you want to open the combined file or return to the file list and try again?"

It would seem the issue is related to file permissions or something specific to Apple Macbook Pro 2018 with an Intel Chip. This does not occur on Macbook Air 2023 with an M1 Chip using the same permissions. Moreover, this may give a clue - I have never been able to save to the recent folder list and I always have to click on "Choose a different folder" even though the folders listed are the same folders I am saving to. The error is: "The locaton you are trying to open is no longer available and cannot be opened."

I have asked about this issue on several occasions, however the problem persists without a solution.

Please let us know if the issue occurs with some particular files or files from a specific source. Share the screen recording of your steps to combine the files and what happens.

Share the sample files on which the error occurs. Share the Acrobat and OS version number on your Macbook Air.

As mentioned, "these files combine when uploaded to the cloud." Do you mean when combining them on Acrobat online?

To test which file is causing the error, combine each file with a test PDF created locally. Check if you get the same error message with any of them.
