Combining pdf files matching certain text in name from folder and then saving in output folder

Question

Using Adobe Pro.

I have about 7000 invoices. The files are pdf and named with invoice number.

I must merge it with supporting documents, which I have also named according to invoice number with suffix "_check" after invoice number.

I must merge each invoice and its supporting documents into a file called <invoice number>_merged.

Is there a script or tool I can use? Not at all clued up on programming

This is possible to do using a combination of an Action and a (custom-made) script. The Action will collect all the file paths and the script will then merge them and save under a new name in the output folder.
