Question

Comment section changes?

For my organizations publications process, I generally share files that have been uploaded to Adobe Cloud by inviting my team's emails. They then have access to comment any edits. After, my editor would take the PDF that I technically "own" and was able to download the file from the Cloud and edit the comments himself. Lately, and it hasn't been with every file, when he downloads it, the comments are either not there or he is unable to edit them. Similarly, one of our contributors will comment photo captions then send the file back via email, and his comments do not show up. Does anyone have any insight to this? We've done this process for years without these issues.

Can you confirm the exact version of the software and operating systems?

Did you change/upgrade/update anything just before the problem started?

Just to make sure, you email the pdf files instead of sharing them via a link? Personall, I prefer to upload the file and share a link to avoid having too many copies of the file out there.

I am using the most recent version of Acrobat on Windows 11 and the digital version of Acrobat. I can't think of anything that specifically changed before the problem started; like I said, it only happens with some PDFs and others are totally fine. I'm not emailing the PDF files; I upload them to Adobe cloud and invite my collegues through the Share via email - this sends them a link to access just the one version.

Hi @ehornung

Thanks for reaching out. If you are sharing a file using Acrobat Pro or Reader Desktop.

Ideally, the file should contain comments. And should be able to add or delete his/her own comments. It is not possible to edit other's comments. Please check this help document for more details: https://adobe.ly/4dFOww0

Also, when someone comments on Photos and sends you the file by emailing it to you, please check with the person if they are using Acrobat or Reader to comment on the file.
