Hello.

I have a document that I've printed to pdf from the web.  I want to use the commenting (highlight text) tool to highlight parts of the document. When I click on the highlight text tool and click in the document, the drawing tool is activated. A large rectangle shape appears in the document. Does anyone know why this is happening?  I can't seem to turn off the drawing tool.  Help!!

Thank you

Hello Pdfross,

Sorry for the delayed response and inconvenience caused. Please click on the Drawing Tool, to turn it off.

I tried replicating the workflow at my end by converting a webpage to PDF and used the highlight tool, and I am able to highlight the texts only in the PDF.

The big rectangle box is only on the images, and you cannot highlight them and this is the reason you are getting the Drawing tool activated.

Are you opening the converted PDF in Acrobat or the freeware Adobe Reader? Is it specific to one PDF file or is it with all the PDF file?

have you tried converting any other web-page with text to PDF and checked?

If it is specific to one PDF, Is it possible to share the PDF file with us? To share the file, please use Adobe Send feature, upload the file, share the link to files via private message only, How Do I Send Private Message

Alos, check for any pending updates of Acrobat/Reader from help>check for updates, reboot the machine after installing the updates and see if this brings any difference.

Let us know how it goes, and share your findings.

Regards,

Anand Sri.
